CVE-2025-40225

Kernel panic via undersized GPUVA preallocation

Published Dec 4, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

Denial of service in the Linux kernel 6.10 Panthor driver allows local users to panic the kernel through a partial GPU VA unmap. panthor_vm_op_ctx_prealloc_vmas reserves one drm_gpuva for an unmap even though a middle-range unmap requires two, leaving panthor_gpuva_sm_step_remap to dereference a NULL object. A local user must be able to issue Panthor VM_BIND operations against an affected GPU context; successful exploitation crashes the host kernel without disclosed data access or modification.
