Kernel crash via repeated migrated VIRQ binding
Published Nov 12, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
A denial-of-service flaw in Linux Xen event handling allows attackers to crash the kernel through repeated VIRQ binding. The find_virq() lookup checks the requested CPU's per-CPU map, misses a migrated per-domain or global VIRQ, and lets bind_virq_to_irq() reach BUG_ON() for an already-bound IRQ. The trigger requires Xen and an unexpected second bind after migration from CPU0; the record identifies no attacker-controlled path or required privilege.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
