Boot-time kernel crash via uninitialized GPUVA list
Published Nov 12, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Denial of service in the Linux kernel 6.17 allows attackers to crash Qualcomm MSM graphics systems during driver initialization. The lookup_vma() path iterates drm_gem_obj.gpuva.list even though msm_kms leaves that list uninitialized without DRIVER_GEM_GPUVA. Reachability requires the msm.separate_gpu_drm=1 module parameter and affected Qualcomm graphics hardware; the resulting kernel oops interrupts system startup.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
