Kernel crash via retained page-cache folio
Published Nov 12, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Denial of service in Linux kernel F2FS allows attackers to crash the kernel by mounting a malformed filesystem image. During f2fs_truncate(), f2fs_convert_inline_inode() creates page zero in the cache, but an -EFSCORRUPTED return leaves that folio behind for inode eviction. Reaching the fault requires the ability to mount attacker-controlled F2FS storage; clear_inode() then encounters a nonempty page cache and triggers a kernel BUG, interrupting the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
