CVE-2025-40114

Out-of-bounds read via unchecked integration-time index

Published Apr 18, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel VEML6075 driver allows attackers to trigger an invalid read through a malformed sensor index. The veml6075_read_int_time_ms function uses a value from veml6075_read_int_time_index, which can range from 0 to 7, to index the five-entry veml6075_it_ms array without a bounds check. The published evidence identifies potentially broken hardware as the gate and establishes neither an attacker-controlled path nor a consequence beyond the invalid read.
