Verifier warning via unchecked socket-address padding
Published Oct 28, 2025 · Updated Oct 28, 2025
Access-validation flaw in Linux kernel BPF allows local users to trigger a verifier warning with a crafted socket-address program. sock_addr_is_valid_access accepts a four-byte read at offset 60, which is padding after msg_src_ip4, and the later context-access conversion cannot translate it. Loading the cgroup socket-address BPF program requires a kernel capability; the documented direct consequence is a verifier warning rather than data access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
