Data corruption or service interruption via short copy
Published Oct 28, 2025 · Updated Oct 28, 2025
Unchecked return-value handling in Linux kernel vringh allows attackers to cause data corruption or denial of service during guest-memory copies. The copy_to_iotlb function treats every nonnegative copy_to_iter result as success, so a short copy leaves the requested transfer incomplete without reporting an error. Reachability requires the vringh vhost IOTLB copy path and a short transfer; published sources do not specify the attacker's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
