Kernel memory corruption via zero SoundWire port

Memory corruption in the Linux kernel wcd937x ASoC codec driver allows local users to alter kernel memory via an ALSA control write. The HPHL_COMP and HPHR_COMP controls leave mc->reg at -1 because SND_SOC_NOPM is used as their register, and wcd937x_set_compander truncates the derived port number to 255 before indexing channel and port maps. Reachability requires a local low-privileged user able to issue an ALSA element-write ioctl on the WCD937x control device; the out-of-bounds accesses compromise kernel confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
