Local resource leak via skipped FastRPC cleanup
Published Oct 28, 2025 · Updated Oct 28, 2025
Resource leak in the FastRPC driver in affected Linux kernel releases allows local users to retain mapped buffers after a failed copy. fastrpc_put_args returns immediately when copy_to_user fails, skipping the DSP-updated fdlist loop that releases mapped buffers. Reachability requires a user-space FastRPC invocation whose result-copy operation faults; each qualifying failure leaves mapped-buffer references unreleased.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
