CVE-2025-39919

Kernel-state corruption via unchecked non-station WCID

Published Oct 1, 2025 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Memory corruption in Linux kernel 6.15 through 6.16.5 and 6.17-rc1 through 6.17-rc4 allows remote attackers to corrupt kernel state. The mt7996_rx_get_wcid function accepts a non-station WCID and casts its entry to mt7996_sta_link with container_of instead of rejecting a null wcid->sta. Adjacent-network access and an mt7996 device are required; the established consequence is corruption of the driver's WCID array.
