CVE-2025-39907

Service interruption via overlapping ECC buffer mappings

Published Oct 1, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

Availability flaw in the Linux kernel STM32 FMC2 raw-NAND driver allows local users to interrupt NAND reads on affected hardware. The driver maps separately allocated ECC buffers whose cache lines overlap, causing the DMA API to reject a mapping during stm32_fmc2_nfc_xfer. Reachability requires an STM32 FMC2 NAND controller and local low-privileged access; the resulting failure is confined to availability.
