Local denial of service via spurious warning
Published Sep 11, 2025 · Updated Sep 11, 2025
Denial of service in the Linux kernel PA-RISC cache code allows local users to crash systems configured to panic on warnings. The flush_cache_vmap() path treats an occasional find_vm_area() miss as a WARN_ON_ONCE condition even though it falls back to flush_cache_all(). On PA-RISC systems with panic_on_warn enabled, the spurious warning converts a recoverable cache-flush condition into a kernel panic.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
