CVE-2025-39761

Kernel memory corruption via undecremented ath12k TID

Published Sep 11, 2025 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Out-of-bounds access in affected Linux kernel 6.x releases allows physically proximate attackers to corrupt kernel memory via Wi-Fi. The ath12k_dp_rx_peer_frag_setup() error path passes TID 17 to peer cleanup without decrementing it, causing cleanup to index past peer->rx_tid[]. An unauthenticated station within radio range can induce the peer-unmap race and memory pressure, exposing stale kernel data, corrupting driver or heap state, and crashing or wedging the system.
