Out-of-bounds read in Linux, including SIMATIC CN 4100 before V5.0, allows local users to interrupt service during USB parsing. The usb_parse_ss_endpoint_companion() function reads a descriptor type before confirming that the buffer is long enough to contain that field. Reachability requires parsing a malformed SuperSpeed endpoint companion descriptor; NVD includes kernel-memory disclosure, while Siemens reports availability-only appliance impact.
