Kernel crash via unchecked metadata reallocation

NULL pointer dereference in the Linux kernel msm DRM driver allows local users to crash the system through GEM metadata setup. The msm_ioctl_gem_info_set_metadata() function fails to check whether krealloc returned NULL before continuing to use the resized metadata buffer. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and allocation failure while the MSM DRM metadata ioctl is processed, limiting the reported consequence to a kernel crash.
