CVE-2025-39739

Graphics initialization failure via omitted SM6115 compatibility

Published Sep 11, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

Denial of service in Linux kernel 6.2 and later allows local users to disrupt display and GPU initialization on SM6115 systems. The Qualcomm ARM SMMU client match table omits the SM6115 MDSS compatible string, so the driver skips a required identity-domain workaround and emits repeated context faults. Reachability is limited to affected Qualcomm SM4250 or SM6115 hardware during MDSS startup, where display, GPU, and DPU components fail to initialize rather than the entire system crashing.
