CVE-2025-39693

System crash via unchecked connector state dereference

Published Sep 5, 2025 · Updated Sep 5, 2025

NULL pointer dereference in Linux kernel AMD display code allows local users to crash the system during an atomic display commit. The AMD display path dereferences connector-state values returned by drm_atomic_get_new_connector_state() or drm_atomic_get_old_connector_state() without first checking for NULL. Low-privileged local access and execution of the affected AMD display code are required, and the reported consequence is limited to a system crash.
