CVE-2025-39685Public exploit

Kernel-data disclosure and service interruption via oversized IRQ

Published Sep 5, 2025 · Updated Sep 5, 2025

Out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel pcl726 Comedi driver allows local users to disclose kernel data or interrupt service. The device-attachment path accepts an oversized it->options[1] IRQ value and uses it without the required upper-bound check, triggering an out-of-bounds access. Reachability requires local low-privileged access to the pcl726 configuration path; the observed consequences are kernel-data exposure and service interruption.
