Authenticated PHP code execution via shortcode file parameter
Published Apr 16, 2025 · Updated May 12, 2026
Local file inclusion in the WPCOM Member plugin 1.7.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute server-side PHP code. The wpcom-member shortcode preserves an attacker-controlled file parameter and passes it into the template inclusion path without restricting the resolved filename. Contributor-level access is required, and code execution requires an includable local file, such as an uploaded image containing PHP.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
