Stored XSS via unescaped translation shortcode text
Published Apr 16, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in WP Wham Checkout Files Upload for WooCommerce 2.2.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject browser scripts. The translation shortcode returns attacker-controlled text to checkout pages without output escaping, causing saved shortcode content to render as executable markup. Contributor-level access is required to plant the payload, and a privileged user must visit or submit the crafted page before the script runs in that user's browser.
