CVE-2025-3925

Local privilege escalation after code execution

Published May 7, 2025 · Updated May 8, 2025

Execution with unnecessary privileges in BrightSignOS Series 4 before 8.5.53.1 and Series 5 before 9.0.166 allows local users to escalate privileges. BrightSign and CISA have not published the privileged execution locus or the operation that mishandles attacker-controlled input. Exploitation requires prior low-privileged code execution on a player; success grants control over device data and availability.
