Subscriber-to-Administrator escalation via unchecked role setting
Published Apr 26, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in Integração entre Eduzz e WooCommerce 1.7.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to gain Administrator access. The wep_opcoes function accepts a Subscriber's settings update without a capability check and writes Administrator as the default role for the plugin's registration flow. Subscriber-level access is required; after the default changes, a new registration produces an Administrator account with control of the WordPress site.
