Arbitrary file read via unchecked cache path
Published May 9, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Path traversal in EUCookieLaw 2.7.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files through its cache integration. The EUCookieCache.php template passes an unchecked file path to file_get_contents without restricting reads to the intended cache location. Exploitation requires an installed and active caching plugin such as W3 Total Cache; successful requests disclose file contents but do not modify them.
