Privilege escalation in Axis Communications AB AXIS OS 12.0.0 through 12.5.30 allows local users to run malicious ACAP applications. Axis has not disclosed which ACAP execution control assigns excessive privileges or how the application crosses its intended boundary. Exploitation requires a device configured to permit unsigned ACAP packages and a victim who installs the attacker's package, after which its code runs with elevated device privileges.
