Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published May 1, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Tips and Tricks HQ Simple Shopping Cart 5.1.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via wp_cart_button. The shortcode handler places user-supplied attributes into generated button markup without sufficient sanitization or context-appropriate output escaping. Contributor-level access permits storing the payload in a page, and the script executes when a visitor opens that page.
