Contributor account-setting writes via faulty capability checks
Published Jun 17, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Opinion Stage Quiz Maker 19.9.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to write account settings. Several connection-management functions in the Admin module use a misconfigured capability check that admits Contributors to privileged email-change and disconnect operations. Contributor-level WordPress access is required; attackers can change the linked email or sever the account connection, while existing content remains displayed and functional.
