Stored XSS via missing settings nonce validation
Published Apr 25, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Rafe Ajax Comment Form CST 1.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject stored scripts through settings. The acform_cst_settings page accepts settings changes without valid nonce verification, allowing attacker-controlled script content to be stored. Exploitation requires a site administrator to act on a forged request; the stored script then executes during later page views.
