Local system hang via unprotected IPv6 route traversal

Denial of service in the IPv6 routing code in affected Linux kernel releases allows local users to hang the system through a route-update race. fib6_info_uses_dev() traverses an RCU-managed route list without explicit protection and can follow an anchor removed concurrently by fib6_del_route() or fib6_add_rt2node(). Low-privileged local access and successful race timing are required; the documented consequence is an infinite loop that interrupts the system.
