Remote kernel crash via null backlog dereference
Published Aug 16, 2025 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Denial of service in affected Linux kernel versions allows remote attackers to crash the kernel via an AF_RXRPC service call. In net/rxrpc/call_accept.c, rxrpc_alloc_incoming_call() reads backlog counters through a null rxrpc_backlog pointer when no service calls have been preallocated. An AF_RXRPC service socket must be open and bound; a qualifying incoming call reaches the null dereference and produces a kernel oops that interrupts the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
