CVE-2025-38446

Memory disclosure or crash via parent overread

Published Jul 25, 2025 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in the i.MX95 clock driver in Linux allows local users to disclose kernel memory or crash the system during probe. The dispmix_csr_clk_dev_data entry hard-codes four parents despite a smaller parent_names array, causing __clk_register to read an out-of-range pointer. The path is reached during deferred probe on NXP i.MX95 hardware; exposure is limited to systems using that clock driver, and no integrity impact is reported.
