Service interruption via unsafe NVMe RCU traversal
Published Jul 25, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
RCU misuse in Linux kernel 6.15 through 6.15.5 and 6.16-rc1 through 6.16-rc4 allows local users to cause a service interrupt. nvme_mpath_add_sysfs_link traverses an SRCU-protected namespace list with list_for_each_entry_rcu instead of the sleepable list_for_each_entry_srcu helper. Reaching the flaw requires local access and NVMe multipath namespace setup; published testing demonstrates a lockdep warning rather than a specific crash mode.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
