Kernel memory corruption via skipped neighbour removal
Published Jul 25, 2025 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux kernel ROSE routing allows adjacent remote attackers to corrupt kernel memory through crafted AX.25 traffic. rose_rt_device_down() iterates forward while shrinking and compacting a neighbour array, skips duplicate entries, then frees a still-referenced rose_neigh object. ROSE must be enabled and an AX.25 interface brought down; later routing or local AF_ROSE access can leak kernel data, corrupt memory, or crash the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
