Kernel warning via requeued delayed work
Published Jul 25, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
A workqueue race in Linux 6.11 allows local users to trigger a kernel warning during an unsuccessful Intel Xe VF driver probe. During early probe unwind, the GuC CT teardown destroys its workqueue while safe_mode_worker_func retains delayed work that can requeue itself. Reachability requires Intel Xe graphics virtualization and an early VF initialization failure; the public report demonstrates a WARN rather than a crash or reboot.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
