Availability loss via incomplete AML operation cleanup
Published Jul 10, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Resource leakage in affected Linux kernels allows local users to interrupt ACPI initialization when malformed AML aborts parsing. In drivers/acpi/acpica/psobject.c, acpi_ps_complete_final_op() leaves pending parse operations incomplete on some error paths, retaining Acpi-Parse objects. Reachability requires local low-privileged access and an early ACPI parse abort; the documented consequence is loss of availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
