CVE-2025-38330

Memory disclosure and test crash via length override

Published Jul 10, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in Linux kernel 6.14 through 6.15.3 allows local users to expose memory and crash the cs_dsp KUnit test. The cs_dsp_ctl_cache_init_multiple_offsets test allocates register values using a 4-byte mock template, then overrides the length to 8 bytes before later reads. The affected locus is KUnit test code under drivers/firmware/cirrus/test, so the condition requires that test suite to be built and invoked; no production driver path is identified.
