Local system crash via unchecked path template
Published Jul 10, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in Intel AVS ASoC in Linux kernel 6.15 through 6.15.2 allows local users to crash the system. avs_hw_constraints_init passes the unchecked result of avs_dai_find_path_template to avs_path_set_constraint, which dereferences the null template. Reachability requires an affected Intel AVS audio path during hardware-constraint initialization; the reported consequence is a kernel crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
