CVE-2025-38298

Kernel fault via stale ADXL component count

Published Jul 10, 2025 · Updated May 23, 2026

Out-of-bounds access in the Linux kernel EDAC subsystem allows local administrators to trigger a general protection fault. The skx_edac_common module fails to reset adxl_component_count when i10nm_edac is unloaded, so reloading doubles the count and indexes beyond the ADXL component array. Reaching the fault requires root or CAP_SYS_MODULE, an i10nm_edac unload and reload, and EDAC error-injection testing.
