Early-boot crash via incompatible struct dereference
Published Jul 10, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in Linux 6.15 through 6.15.1 allows local users to crash affected MediaTek v1 platforms during early boot. mtk_eint_do_init() treats the v1 definition of struct mtk_pinctrl as the incompatible v2 definition and accesses its nonexistent soc field. The condition requires a MediaTek v1 pinctrl driver and interrupts startup before ordinary system services become available.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
