Kernel crash via unchecked MMIO mapping failure
Published Jul 3, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
A null pointer dereference in the Linux kernel mt7915 Wi-Fi driver allows local users to crash the kernel during WED initialization. mt7915_mmio_wed_init() uses the mapping returned by devm_ioremap() without checking for NULL when MMIO mapping fails. The flaw is reachable only when the mt7915 driver initializes its WED path, and the reported consequence is availability loss rather than data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
