CVE-2025-38151

Userspace process hang via missing cma_id_put call

Published Jul 3, 2025 · Updated May 23, 2026

Denial of service in the Linux kernel RDMA/cma component allows local users to hang a userspace process through a failed work-queue operation. When cma_netevent_callback cannot queue pending work, it fails to call cma_id_put(), leaving the connection-management identifier referenced. The path requires local low-privileged access to RDMA connection management, and the affected process remains a zombie.
