CVE-2025-38124Network attack vector

Remote crash via malformed UDP GSO segmentation

Published Jul 3, 2025 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Denial of service in the Linux kernel UDP GSO path allows remote attackers to crash forwarding systems via crafted UDP traffic. Partial payload pulls can violate SKB_GSO_FRAGLIST geometry, yet skb_segment processes the malformed layout and reaches a kernel assertion. Reachability requires transit traffic, GRO frag-list aggregation, and an in-path NAT or BPF hook; the resulting panic interrupts the system.
