Unauthenticated account takeover via unchecked email update
Published May 9, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authorization bypass in Iqonic Design WPBookit 1.0.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to take over accounts via email reassignment. The edit_newdata_customer_callback() function accepts a user-controlled account reference and updates its email address without validating the requester's identity. No authentication or user interaction is required; changing an administrator's email enables a password reset and administrator account access.
