Kernel memory corruption via display sequence overflow
Published Jun 18, 2025 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in affected Linux kernels allows local users to read or write kernel memory and crash systems via AMD GPU atomic commits. hwss_build_fast_sequence appends more than 50 entries to the fixed block_sequence array without a bounds check, overwriting its counter and adjacent kernel data. Reachability requires local DRM primary-node access and a supported six-pipe AMD display configuration; no race or network path is involved.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
