Authenticated arbitrary file upload via unchecked extension
Published Apr 19, 2025 · Updated Apr 21, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in ZHENFENG13 MyBBS 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to store attacker-chosen files through /uploadFile. UploadController derives an extension with substring, appends it to a random filename, and passes the upload to transferTo without validating the extension or content. A valid session is required; uploaded HTML remains retrievable and can execute attacker-supplied script in a visitor's browser.
