CVE-2025-3804Public exploit

Local code execution via unsandboxed template rendering

Published Apr 19, 2025 · Updated Apr 21, 2025

Server-side template injection in Taine Zhao VSCode-Diana 0.0.1 allows local users to execute Python code through crafted .in files. Gen.py reads each .in file as a Jinja2 template and renders its untrusted contents with a global namespace containing Python built-ins and global variables. Exploitation requires local ability to create or modify an input file, after which injected expressions execute with the rendering process's privileges and can read files or alter the host.
