Authenticated code execution via oversized pingIP input
Published Apr 19, 2025 · Updated Apr 21, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda W12 and i24 3.0.0.4(2887) and 3.0.0.5(3644) allows remote authenticated users to execute code. The cgiPingSet handler in /bin/httpd writes attacker-controlled pingIP data into fixed-size stack storage without enforcing its length. Low-privileged access to the network management interface is required; exploitation corrupts the httpd process and permits code execution or a service crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
