Local denial of service via sysfs cleanup omission
Published May 20, 2025 · Updated Sep 8, 2026
Resource leak in the Linux kernel block layer allows local users to exhaust memory by triggering a queue-registration failure. After blk_mq_sysfs_register succeeds, a later error in blk_register_queue returns without calling blk_mq_sysfs_unregister, leaving sysfs resources allocated. The path requires local low-privileged access and a subsequent registration error; repeated failures can interrupt service without disclosing or altering data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
