Authenticated code execution via unvalidated image upload
Published Apr 19, 2025 · Updated Apr 21, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in WCMS 11 allows remote authenticated users to execute server-side PHP through the advertisement image form. The sub handler in app/admin/AdvadminController.php passes image uploads to AdvService.addAdv and Image.upload while checking only size, not file type, extension, or content. Administrative privileges are required; an uploaded script remains web-accessible and executes with the web server's permissions.
