Kernel lockup via zero-length FIFO read pattern
Published May 20, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Denial of service in the Linux kernel's st_lsm6dsx IMU driver allows local users to lock the kernel by reading a nonempty device FIFO. st_lsm6dsx_read_fifo fails to replace a zero pattern_len before using it to size FIFO reads and advance the read loop. Reaching the flaw requires a compatible ST LSM6DSx IMU and a nonempty hardware FIFO; the resulting lockup interrupts the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
