Local display disruption via atomic-context memory allocation
Published May 20, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Denial of service in Linux 6.12.25 through 6.12.28 and 6.14.4 through 6.14.6 allows local users to disrupt AMD displays. populate_dml_plane_cfg_from_plane_state() performs a GFP_KERNEL allocation while DML display validation runs in atomic context, producing a sleeping-function error. Reachability requires local low-privileged access and the affected AMD display path; published assessments limit the consequence to availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
